'266 distributor comments..

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/hamilton/68-camaro-z28-distributor-1111266/1600174032?undefined

Interesting link (if it works here) to a fairly rare piece..
Anyone care to pass an opinion as to whether this appears to be a legit stamping and date code or if it appears as it does to me as bogus..
What is the going price currently for something like this that is a real version these days?
I responded with a question or two to the seller but haven't heard back so far.

Thanks - Randy

It doesn't show the 'normal' turning lines which are on every original distributor of the era, which indicates to me that the original stampings have probably been turned down and the unit restamped...

Randy, One is listed in the for sale area  & avail on Y.net for around 2500 asking price.

I tried comparing it to Chicks 7A25 & My 7G20 & i would be nervous on this linked for sale item, but I am not one of the better stamp identifier's'  around here.

Thats a known date and I can see the lines. The G in the date looks off, but that could be the angle of the pic and some distortion.
A straight on pic would be better.
Heres a pic of one I used to own

^^ Exactly & other attributes^^

One Tact I take is, Naturally a Seller will not or cannot guarantee authenticity (In Many or most cases) for Such a rare and desirable item (Like WIlliams Buyer-Beware), WHY would they NOT send the Unit to a known rebuilder with the ability to also authenticate - cert the part at such a low-cost outlay to its possible value in the market, & If I encounter reluctance or reticents to this it often explains the sellers lack of faith in the very part they are offering.
