Selling your car

Thinking about maybe selling one of my cars due to my age, time, and space. I don,t really like bidding like eBay ect. Would you be thinking Craigslist,, Hemings ? Maybe TC, not really into Facebook. Thinking of where serious people would look.

My advice: stay away from Craigslist...unless you are ready to deal with flakes, scammers and tweakers.
Hemings, ebay, BAT, or other quality sites/magazines are your best bet. Personally, 'I' would advertise where your market will be. Chevy sites, and Chevy/GM sourced magazines are your best bet in my opinion. That said, I have had great results from ebay.

Personally I see BAT as a good sales venue. The bidders are LEGIT and the prices for verified cars is pretty strong.

My father is getting ready to list one of his restored 49 FORD pickups on BAT.

I've been a Hemmings subscriber for many, many years, bought and sold through the magazine before the internet really took it's place in our lives today. I receive Hemmings auction updates frequently; I particularly like the format more than the starker BaT format. Plus, I think that Hemmings has a better base of muscle and collector cars than BaT, which seems to have more late model vehicles than I like to see. Then again, that's just my opinion (as a throwback that still looks forward to receiving my Hemmings through the mail every month). And yes, even Jerry MacNeish still advertises in it, although the magazine has taken a hit over the years from the internet for sure.

Both BaT and Hemmings charge 5% fees for selling, I think the terms are similar. If Hemmings Auctions had been around in 2011, I would have listed my LS5 there rather than trying tosell it on eBay -

I agree with James. Bring A Trailer seems to bring great money. A friend of mine sold his dads 72 Grand Prix on BAT. He was looking to get $20k. He got $40k!

FWIW and this is my Opinion: PERSONALLY I wouldn't put one on BAT without a Macneish cert even with tons of paper without a Macneish cert it will not bring the best number on BAT.

Why not just start small and list it in Yenko.net and see if there is anyone with a fair amount of knowledge is interested before going and paying fees etc.  it’s worth the $35-40 for a years worth of listings vs eBay or Craigslist plus you won’t have a shit ton of know-it-alls telling you this and that. I’d do that before I hit up BAT or Hemmings.  Heck I’ll even offer up to list it for you and save the cost of membership since I haven’t used any vehicle sales for the year.  I’ve maxed out my allowable for the year without upgrade on parts sales..  so I won’t be listing anything else until after Jan ‘22.  Up to you.

Kelley - I would list your car for sale in Hemmings as you have indicated that you don't want to go through the bidding process.  I've been a Hemmings subscriber since 1990.  My brother sold a car on BAT a few years ago and did get a good price, but it seems to me today that there are a lot more comments being posted on BAT which in my opinion are sometimes not accurate or have nothing to do with the sale of the vehicle.  Good luck! - Mark
