1969 pace car questions
« on: August 21, 2021, 11:14:42 PM »
So I saw this pace car, with many mods, and I got to looking at the Trim tag, and with the finger smudges of sealer over the rivets, I wanted some opinions on the tag itself.
thanks

I believe the tag to be real.
I am guessing it had a L48 originally.

Thank you guys. I think the smudge sealer and all the mods on the car got me thinking.

I don't see many original Pace cars, where they have chosen to modify them, since they are sought after in there original configuration.

It will be interesting to see how it does in the auction vs. a stock one in similar condition.

I wish white comfort weave were an option in 69 Camaros, personally I love it.

I agree with Kurt's assesment, tag looks to be legit, although it's likely been R&R'd - that sealer is a bit over the top.

I usually don't mind modified cars; it does seem a little sacrilegious to change so much on an original car - but to each his own.

Regards,
Steve

if you painted the aluminum engine parts and the radiator it would almost look original. I have been working with the original AC on my triple black pontiac Trans AM (aka HOT) and vintage air starts looking better every 95 degree day. Saving original parts is a plus as the next owner can put them back.
