I too would like to know the answer to this. I posted a question over on TC a couple of days ago, but it really didn't get any traction.

The only difference between yours and mine is mine has a E 92 and above where yours says "wash with", mine says "Do not rub dry" then "wash with"

I'd also like to know where on the frame I might be able to find some numbers.

I don't mean to highjack your thread, I'm just very curious. Thanks for posting.

Resurrecting this 2021 thread with another data point.  Maybe a future research topic, or can be added to the 1967-69 OEM Window Glass report as a convertibles paragraph?

Member NoYooper (same user ID on the TC site) sent me a picture I requested of the rear window/backlight on his 1968 RS/SS 350 05E NOR, which appears very original.  A clearer picture may be forthcoming.  The car can be seen on the TC site here.

The stamp is very similar to the one posted above by firstgenaddict, but with a 4H8 code.  Just a guess but possibly the 4 is month, H is for F body, and 8 is for year?

From a Google search it appears that Regalite is still around and producing clear vinyl window material.  I wonder if there was one or multiple suppliers for just the rear windows, and Fisher made the tops in-house, or if the entire top to include backlight was outsourced?

Code on my original 1967 Pace Car top is 3 H 7 - Thinking that the prior commenter is correct - Month, Style, Year. In my case it would be March 1967. This makes sense to me. So we have a 69, 68 and 67 top all with the H code.

Thanks Ed.  So for NoYooper's 5E of 68 car, the top or at least the backlight is not factory original, but must have been replaced shortly (3 months or more) after it was manufactured?  Must have been a warranty  issue.  And possibly they just made the windows in (H) August each year?

If this is correct regarding the month (H) it would mean the tops are not dated for year of manufacture but for model year.
It would mean the top I posted the photo of was manufactured in August of 1968 for a 1969 model year application.

Page 343 of "The 1967-1968 Camaro Reference Book: From "A" to "Z"..." (1994) from John R. Hooper has a breakdown of the date-coding scheme for convertible plastic windows: Day (1-31), Month (A = Jan through L = Dec), Year (67 = 1967, 68 = 1968, 69 = 1969).

Based on Reply #3 by James (firstgenaddict), the plastic window on the 26k survivor vert was "1H9," not "1H69."  So, I would guess that Hooper's book should have only listed the last digit of the model year instead of the last two digits.  Hooper's book would therefore decode "1H9" as "1 August 1969."  The "3H7" code on the plastic window of Pacecar's 67 Pace Car vert would be "3 August 1967."

BTW, Al Knoch Interiors (https://alknochinteriors.com) sells date-coded convertible plastic windows...I ordered one from them for my 68 vert a couple of years ago; however, the last time I looked at the Al Knoch web site, date-coded plastic windows weren't advertised.  If I recall correctly, you have to phone in your order for a date-coded plastic window.  There was an upcharge to do the date-coding.

Just opened the box with the new Al Knoch plastic window that I bought a couple of years ago to check the date code.  It is "268."  I guess Al Knoch is dating its plastic windows with the "MYY" format.  I'm going to reorder another date-code window if they'll change the date code format to "29B8."

Petes L48,

Yes, the Al Knoch plastic rear windows have the original Regalite logo and no DOT info.  I should have replied to this post a few months ago after receiving my new Al Knoch top with a date-coded plastic rear window.  I called Al Knoch before ordering and e-mailed them a copy of the page in the 67-68 Legends Judging Manual with the photo of an original date-coded plastic window.  Al Knoch was able to make my window with the correct date code format per the Legends manual.  I was very pleased with the results.

As far as I know the code for the Regalite convertible tops that were used was Month, Model, Year.  For Camaros and Firebirds, H is the Model code. 3 H 9 = March, Camaro, 1969
