Alternators were assembly plant installed, typically in that time frame - Late April - within a few weeks prior to body assembly. April 2 is perfectly in line -I am assuming you have a 04C pacer?
My 69 Z28 is a 05A car. Built May 13Engine is V0430. April 30Alternator 9C24. March 24
A O3E pacer with a T0409 engine what is your VIN? 626575usa1tiZ28'S 837 alts are not a like comparison to 834's as there were far fewer 837 dates than the later.
It is my opinion that the April 2nd alternator is within normal parameters for VIN 626575 - (which was final assembled mid April)
Water pumps are installed during engine assembly and generally dated close to that. Probably no more than a month prior, but could be within a day or two.

All,I have a '69 Z11 with engine build date of T0409. Would an early April, say April 2 alternator be ok for this engine? Too late?Same with an early April water pump?

Could they cast, machine, assemble and paint a water pump on the 8th and install it on my engine on the 9th? Did that happen?
