AC Hose
« on: March 07, 2021, 06:10:00 AM »
What is the length of foam on 1969 Camaro AC hose, the hose from compressor to the Evaporator?  The protective foam as it goes over the alternator?  Do they sell a reproduction?

Someone on here found a replacement foam from I believe a Mustang parts supplier - do a search under Power Steering hose - it also has foam over the top for a short length.

There are 2 pieces of foam on the main hose from the manifold to the POA valve. Mine measure 4-3/4 but they were most likely 5". From the bell on the manifold it's 18" to the first one. There is 6" between the 2. I purchased part number 15190971 GM from Ebay. Not possitive if it will work but it was cheap. Like 5 bucks. I can take pictures if you need....Joe

Would something like this work for the accumulator hose insulation?

Aeroflex 3/4 pipe insulation

Any pictures of original would be great!

Thanks Joe

Maybe but it looks too thick. The hose measure 1.66 diameter. Here's some pictures...Joe

Maybe check a place like McMaster Carr to see if they have thinner wall insulation available, in a suitable foam material.
