So many options it required 2 window stickers?
« on: November 27, 2020, 11:30:42 PM »
Not sure I have ever seen a documented car with enough options to require 2 window stickers. Looks like a company car order. Lots of other paperwork too. Legit?

The last line item on the 2nd sheet...

99908 8 cylinder conditioning -
From what I have learned in the NCRS 8 cyl conditioning is a "dealer prep" for cars delivered somewhere other than the ordering dealership, drop shipped etc.

The same line item is on the tank sheet of the Hechler ZL1 Corvette and on the tank sheet of Dave Beem's 67 L68 Vette.

My guess is it was invoiced to the zone office or some Chevrolet factory or engineering center, hence the prep in lieu of dealer prep, and the window sticker was reused when the car was invoiced to a retail buyer and the original destination X’d out.

Talk about awesome - a Royal Plum SS350. I've only seen one, nothing along the lines of this many options. Love to see the car -

Legit. Do they also show a picture of the POP?
It was a company car for F. Wright - right on the bottom of the sticker. Possibly he was at the LOS plant or the zone.
The conditioning charge was so the dealer got paid for the conditioning since it wasn't a sale.
One of the first times I've ever seen the bottom left on the window sticker!

I find it interesting that the window sticker shows on the next to last line on the 2nd sheet 986965 DISPENSER, which is a tissue box holder or dispenser that is attached to the bottom of the dash right under the glove box.  From my The Illustrated Camaro Recognition Guide by Hooper and Crispino this is listed as a dealer installed accessory.  I guess if it was ordered by or for a GM employee it could have been factory installed?  My '67 RS/SS Camaro has one and per the NCRS report it was delivered to the Cleveland Zone Office from Norwood rather than to a dealership.  Maybe cars with this item were ordered for the wife?

Yes. A few other docs that I have never seen also, possibly pertaining to company car specific.

Is that a recent picture of the car? Looks like 350 emblem was taken off the fender. And are they '68 trim rings?

I believe it's been discussed here before, that some very early SS cars (I think from Van Nuys only) that did not have the crossed flags or the 350 on the fenders.

EDIT - found a thread from a few months ago where it was discussed.

It appears to have the wider 14x 7" ralley's or has 8" vette ralleys.
