Well its been awhile since I have posted here. My excuse is that I have been busy wrenching away in the shop. 2 years ago I picked up a 68 C10 that was pretty rust free as a winter rig and something to drive to work after race days so I didn't have to spend most of the night converting my car back into street trim. Well that lasted all of about 4 months. As soon as the wet weather hit, the windshield started leaking bad. So like most projects, that failed seal turned into a full frame off restoration. The truck was a factory long bed, but the box was toast so, cut the frame down and made it into a factory short box and got a new box for the back. Pretty much right off the bat the theme was to build a twin to the 68 Camaro and sharing as many things as possible. So the truck had to be painted blue, have rally's & redlines, have a 4 speed, and a 302 looking motor. So over the last year the truck has been transformed into a pretty good twin to the Camaro. The blue is factory C10 Medium blue poly and white (truck is factory 2 tone truck), the 350 has been dressed with a Z/28 intake, correct 68 chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Swapped the granny gear 4 speed with a M21 4 speed using Chevelle and Tri five pieces to make the shifter look like the factory installed it. Then to cap it off it has 8" rally's and redlines to wrap up the matching. Really the only big difference is the interior colors. The camaro still has its original black deluxe. With how much of the inside of the C10 is painted I went with blue interior to match it all, but with all stock looking things. While not a 100% correct for 68, most people will just see a nice stock looking pickup. Now to start saving to add a Lemans Blue 68 Corvette to make triplets, lol!
