I am looking for some input regarding purchasing a jack for my 69. I actually want one that can be used to raise the car in the event I get a flat. I recently experiencednced a flat and went to use my jack and discovered it was labeled "display purposes only do not use to raise vehicle". I then had to wait for AAA to arrive and use their jack. I have since looked at all the aftermarket parts suppliers and they all say their products are not to be used to raise the car. Does anyone know where I can purchase a jack that can actually be used to change a tire? Has anyone else had to deal with this? Thank you for the advice.

I keep a compact trolley jack wrapped in a towel in the trunk. They have a 2 ton capacity and a low profile.

I concur with MikeS and do the same thing.  Personally I’d never raise my ‘69 with the bumper jack.

A scissor jack from a 68-81 Corvette works great, they are widely available for not a lot of money, they are compact, there is ZERO chance of hydraulic oil leaking, and you can use an electric impact driver on the 3/4" hex to raise the car.

During the 20 years my 67 was a daily driver I carried a compact scissor jack, used it many times.

Was always afraid of bumper jacks, although used them many times back in the day.
