Outstanding car designs
« on: May 28, 2020, 05:31:42 PM »
Boys,
What automotive car 'styling' designs do you consider outstanding? Cobra, '63 Split Window 'Vette, GT-40, Lambo Miura, 1969 Mustang, and '69 Camaro? Your thoughts...

Boy, I could go on and on; but here goes with some of my favorites:
2nd Gen Camaros, styling wise I prefer them even to the 1st Gens
Any Dodge or Plymouth E body
1968-70 Charger
1968-82 Corvette
E type Jaguar
Any 2 seat Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Maserati

My favorite car design of all time, hands down, bar none is the Ford GT-40 Mark II followed closely by the GT-40 Mark IV.  The GT-40 is a timeless work of art that was also the epitome/pinnacle of performance in its day.

Couldn't agree more. The GT-40 Mk-II 427 cars ARE top of the food chain.

Years that stand out for me. speaking strictly GM:

1957 Bel Air - culmination of the previous two successful model years. Best of the fins, timeless classic.
1961-62 Bubble tops, Impala or Bel Air. Best of the Late Greats.
1963 Corvette split window coupe. Generation change, revolutionary styling.
1966-67 Chevy II Novas - tough little cars, great lines, legendary L79 package.
1969 Camaro, coupe or convertible. Same as the 55-57 Bel Air's, refined evolutionary styling that still attracts people to it today,

Don't think I have blinders on, I like nearly all of the muscle cars, Fords and Mopars included. They represent a great time in the lives of my generation; I'm always glad that I was able to experience the last years of the car crazed 60's and the early 70's. Fond memories !

Steve

As much as I love my 69 Camaro there’s nothing that compete with a 1937 Delahaye
Type: Type 135 MS Special Roadster when it comes to outstanding design, period!
