Was the 68 RS available without the hidden headlight grill?

Are you saying, that if it is a true RS it would have hidden headlight grille. A friend of mine's aunt has a 68 camaro that is badged RS, it has the cowl hood, and a 350, it has z28 striping, it has the silver standard grille. I have never seen a RS car without the RS grille, is why I ask, to me it looks like a z, minus the 302.

For the most part the reason for ordering the RS option was to get the hidden headlights and black grille. The additional chrome dress-up was icing on the cake or car. From the discription it sounds like somebody added the cosmetics they liked sometime in the cars history.

Where are the reverse lights on the car you're referring?
...below the rear bumper = RS
...within the taillamp housings = not an original RS

...unless of course someone went through the trouble of relocating the reverse lights..
