UNDERCOATING & SPLATER PAINT

ON A 69 CAMARO INSIDE THE TRUNK AERA WAS THE UNDERCOATING SPRAYED ON THE QUARTER PANEL FIRDT  THEN   SPRAYED   WITH THE SPLATER PAINT OR THE OTHER WAY AROUND

 That thick coating was a sound deadener (it helped prevented the panel from oscillating) and it was sprayed first, then the spatter over it.

from what I can tell from my original car...
