It would be a curious thing to know, was this economically driven by Subscribers or Advertisers?  Both?  Unsustainable business given the digital erosion of the income streams to keep the printing presses rolling, Aging of a management structure that is younger and clings to a love affair with the Bit 000100010011010111100,, My attic is full of past issues,
Glossy paper for ever!

As for my opinion, the readership/subscriptions are way DOWN. Also, some of the same corporate owner based mags are rehashes of the same narrative/articles…boring. Hot-Rod and Hemming's 'Muscle Machines Magazine' are the only two I currently subscribe. Hot-Rod sucks….when my subscription runs out…thats it, Im done with them. Hemming's I do enjoy because of the variety, and will re-new in the future.

They may as well add Hot Rod to the list. I subscribed forever when I was young and it actually covered things the normal guy could afford. They sent me a ridiculous offer three years ago, 3 years for  20 or 25 dollars. Just got my last issue yesterday and won't ever fall for that again. The Hemmings family are the only magazines I get now.

Was always a Carcraft fan vs. Hot rod. Superchevy was a fav also. Honestly has been years since I subscribed to any of them. Gasser Wars and Gasser Madness probably my last paper mags, both of which I believe went online a few years back.

Information so easily accessed now. Video killed the radio star,,internet has changed the game for everything. Ponder for a second just how useful this site alone is.These are good days.

I got a subscription for Mustang monthly as a teen, and continually bought many from the list you provided. Eventually I evolved and subscribed to Carcraft, which seemed to me was made for the garage mechanic and had almost all brands of American muscle, but monthly told you how to accomplish big dreams on a budget.

Even my kids go through my old issues reading about the cars and builds, and this is from 5 to 10 year old copies that have been under the sink in the bathrooms of my house. It gives me hope fo them. Hopefully I have enough issues to keep them going into their driving years...😉

Sad in a way to see them go. While the internet is quick and easy, I still prefer to read books and magazines, vs tablets.

One of my favorite auto mags that I have subscribed to for 45 years has recently become digital only.  Autoweek; it was originally known as Autoweek and Competition Press.  I will miss it, and will not read it on-line.

Back in the 1980s-early 1990s Muscle Car Review WAS the magazine! Loved the articles, and especially the quarter mile 'shootouts'. The Hemi VS the Buick 455 Stage1 was classic, and created such a rivalry. They even sponsored Muscle Car Review events across the country, including shows and drag racing…one of which I did attend and race in 1988…fun times!

I still like to dig into some of my old Super Chevy and Hot Rod mags that I have archived - SC especially. I have a lot of back issues of Camaro Enthusiast from the USCC (classified ads are a trip with parts and prices), ACES newsletters from my Chevelle ownership days. 35 years of Hot Rods make a good pile, toss in 20 years plus of Super Chevy, and 30 years of Hemmings and you will likely get a visit from the Fire Marshal one day -

Hemmings is my lone hold out - I can't help but stay loyal to it, undoubtedly one of the best auto related books to ever grace the news stands and book racks. Hope it lives forever -

Regards,
Steve

Then you will really like Hemming's 'Muscle Machines' magazine. In my opinion it is a higher quality magazine overall with better editorial, features, and photos.
