1968 SS 396 Correct Badge Location?
« on: October 02, 2019, 07:39:39 PM »
I wanted to check with others/experts on the location of the 396 badge on the attached 1968 SS 396.  It appears to me to be a little low, but my restoration guy used a template and says this is the location per the template.  I checked some online pictures, and they all seem to have it a little higher on the stripe.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Got a photo of it straight on?

Original paint car.

I can get close ups if you'd like.

I asked my restore guy for a straight on picture, and I'll post it when I get it.  Thanks for your pictures, that car looks great!!  If you could provide a closer picture of the 396 badge, that would be great.  I'd like to get this right before I start taking it to shows.

Here are a closer, straight on pictures of the badges on both sides.  They are consistent on each side.

The emblem should fall almost directly centerline with the headlight.  I’ll get a photo  and measurements but it might be a couple days.  Unless someone else can act faster.

I just got mine back from my painter who researched it with me just to be sure it was aligned accurately  after setting the template as described in the decal kit, have your painter fix it right!

My restoration guy is ready to put these badges back on, but I was hoping someone would be able to get me the distance to the badge from the bottom and front of the stripe.  He tried this with a template, but they were not located correctly, so I thought locating off the stripe would be best at this time.

Thank you for any help you can give me!!
