This car is already over 80K!.. Wondering if it's in the DB or if we know if it's been inspected by any experts?... Danny

They are discussing the car over at YENKO.net

Uggg...my wife would kill me,,or worse yet divorce. Then she'd own a 68 and 67,lol.
Beautiful car, did Lucas have anything to do with the repaint?
Hard to believe 67's don't demand more $$

My Joke above was meant in the spirit (humor) not derogatory at all, since I also own a 68 302 Badge car that was peppered with owner installed Z emblems.
This yellow car appears to be a fantastic Car based on the photos and positive member input..
Question I really Like the air cleaner on or of this "VERSION"
Would the ECL code on the sticker be indicative as original supplied equipment? 5Z28BB, the answer might be in Jerry's Book?

Know what you mean about badges - my '68 had one bolted to the grille (ala '69) - not only was it a reproduction, they broke the grille bars in a couple of places by overtightening the emblem nuts.
ZL2 hood, as well -

Steve

How can this car have a brake hold-off valve under the drivers seat, mounted to the frame, with a date code of Saturday August 2nd 1969? Are there documented cars from this time period with ANY hold-off valves? And if so, what are the dates?.. Danny

Danny,
You should read John's report on Camaro brakes...

I have read that before. And just finished reading it again. I am very familiar with those valves... {See picture of SOME of my collection I will be selling} My question is still not answered. I am guessing someone just mounted ANY valve they could find. Even though it is 2 years off in date?... Danny

Quite a collection of valves.
Mine was removed when the brake lines were replaced and the rear disc brakes were installed. Still have the holes on the subframe though showing where it was though.

If I recall my own reading of JohnZ's article, he stated that the valve usage *varied* throughout production, so that's an area they couldn't settle on. Perhaps the car under discussion began life without the proportioning valve, and someone believed it was needed later...?

I remember judging this Camaro at an International Camaro Club event at Pocono Manor in 1997. It was a beautiful, solid car. I remember it displaying more originality at that time. But hey, that was 20 years ago. Wow, time flies.
