Suisse Imported 1968 Convertible
« on: September 14, 2019, 01:15:04 PM »
A nice original Camaro Convertible from 1968.
An import vehicle, but not by GM Suisse, but parallel import.
These often had a sticker instead of the "General Motors Suisse S.A. Bienne" in the engine compartment.
The sticker could be part orange / white, partly black / white.

Rare. L-30 275 Hp with 3 speed auto. Part of TH350 transmission test fleet. Surprised they shipped a test unit out of the country.

Is it metallic red or Island Teal?

If by "they" you mean Chevrolet, they probably didn't. Most likely it was owned by someone in the states that moved overseas and took their car with them.

This is the earliest TH350 test vehicle that we've seen.
Tom, is it possible to get the transmission code (stamped on the trans pan) or a picture of the engine pad? I'm guessing no since it looks like it was at a dealer.
Anyway to tell what year the car was imported?

Thanks!

Hi Kurt,
the code is difficult to read is V0423EE.
Imported is not clear, but it was redeemed on July 1st, 1968 in Zurich.
The GM Suisse badge was removed when repainting is lost.

It looks EE, not EN. So it is not a TH350 test vehicle. That make sense - it was too early.
Thanks!
