Sovren PNW Historics
« on: July 23, 2019, 05:58:20 PM »

I recently attended the Sovren PNW Historics July 6 and was able to meet Mitch Bishop, youngest
son of IMSA founder John Bishop. In 72 I was able to race in the Glen, Mid-Ohio, and Nov. Daytona
Camel Gt races, with co-driver Rick Stevens in the ex Alfie Ruys de Perez 69 camao T/A car. Bishop
had kept a 5.0 litre touring class open for early T/A racers and we managed a 3rd in class in each race.
John Bishop was very racer friendly, and actually returned our entry fee from the 73 Pocono race, after
we broke the trans early in practice and didn't have a spare, and had to load up for home!

What failed about the trans at Pocono? Have pics from that race?
Off Topic I know, but it's interesting to me.

Sorry, can't remember what broke, but it was deemed serious at the time. No pics.
