Austin,
you sent me 'screen shots' which ranged in size from 3 to 5 Megabytes each! To get these to a postable size, I had to clip out the critical stamping part of the 'screen capture, and then run the image files thru 'Light Image Resizer' several times to get the images to size...
The images were not very good to begin with, despite their large file size, and of course they are no better now.
My comments to Austin's email were as follows:
"Looks like a nice car, and the BIN price isn't bad either IMO…
The engine stamp itself looks OK to me, but the engine stamping photo is not high resolution enough to see broach marks; I'm imagining that I see 'other' horizontal' machine marks instead (but it might be my imagination from that low resolution photo??).. Without seeing original broach marks, I'd never declare an engine stamp to be original.
I didn't see any problems with the trans stampings or the axle stamp, although that axle sure showed some deep pits from rust.. Might be normal for Canada though?"
