Here are the pictures that I took of the 1st generation Camaro Indy Pace Cars that were a part of the 2019 Camaro Pace Car Homecoming held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana on Saturday, May 18, 2019.  This event was held during the weekend of qualifying for the 2019 Indianapolis 500.

These first 4 photos are of the actual pace car from 1967.  They placed the Camaros that actually paced their respective Indy 500's in a row with the museum as the backdrop.

The '67 Pace car information board says three pace cars were ordered but it is thought only two were built. A friend of mine owns the L78 engine from the third pacer and the partial VIN on the block is in between the two other pacers. I guess that actually makes it the second of the three and the actual pacer for the race is the third one built going by the VIN. The NCRS report for all three VINs comes back identical, all three going to the Indianapolis zone.

That is very interesting Jon.  How did he acquire that engine and does he/you know the whereabouts of the car the engine came from?
