I have my 69 coupe all stripped out for the body shop and I never found a build sheet.   Having checked in the seat bottoms I still found nothing.  I had a Corvette not too long ago and found the build sheet on top of the gas tank and under the passengers carpet...Nothing on top of the gas tank on the Camaro either.  :(

Would anyone have a picture of a 69 build sheet?  I'm currious to see what I am missing
Thanks! Joe

dont feel bad. 90% of camaros dont have the build sheet under the seat or above the gas tank. norwood wasnt too strict about that.

So I'm finding out!  Norwood cars seem to br the ones with the least .  I've been searching for what one looks like and found one.  You can't read it but I got the idea.  I included the image for those like me.

1st Gen Camaros did not have "build sheets" as A bodies did; sub-assembled components were tagged with either a body or chassis broadcast sheet that indicated the VIN/BODY number of the unit the component was intended for. All 1st gens had both; they were supposed to be discarded as components were installed. Norwood rarely left sheets hidden in cars although they did occasionally leave them in cars for the dealer to toss during prep. Some dealers put them in a file folder with other paperwork, usually how Norwood sheets are found. The Van Nuys plant often left a sheet taped to the fuel tank, by now too weathered to be legible.

All the Van Nuys built 69 Camaro's I have found sheets on have been glued to the top of the tank and not taped. Every one has been toward the front , drivers side.

Hi Charley -

Do you know if this is the case with '68 Van Nuys Camaros too?  My '68 has been in storage since 1981, so if this procedure occurred in the 1968 model year also there's a good chance it might still be there!   ::)

I don't remember finding them on 68's but on 69's you can usually see it by looking at the tank from the drivers side without even dropping the tank. Usually the edge of it can be seen. Just peek your head behind the tire and use a flashlight. You are looking for wrinkled paper stuck to the top of the tank.

Thanks for your Chevy fast response!  I just checked and I don't see anything sticking out from the top of the tank  :(.  If it is there, it will remain there for now as I have no time to drop the tank.  Thanks again.
