It's the same as all the other 3858403 bell housing applications, P/N 3788422.

I can't find the threads, but isn't there a difference in the assembly-line cover and the one's available now?

I bought one on line that was supposed to be for 68 sbc camaro z/28 but the hole for the starter is to small. and it doesn't have the straight edge on the left.

Yes, I've also heard that the later service replacements and repops are wrong. If you need a factory correct one you'll need to find a good used one. Shouldn't be too difficult since these things were used on a bizillion cars!

Not to hi-jack but any reference to a picture with differences? I know it was discussed here many moons ago but I can't remember the topic.

No, I've never researched this past the point of hear-say. Maybe someone else can help.

It's true, I also order one online(stated to be he correct one, nope! starter hole to small and mounting holes are off. ordered one for the 10 1/2 clutch and 403 bellhousing and it works fine.
