Typical price value for a 67 convertible.
« on: May 10, 2018, 12:13:29 AM »
Guys can someone tell me what a typical price for a 67 vert. Yes I know it depends on options. The car I'm looking at has power top, RS, air, deluxe interior, gauges and v8. It has typical rust in floors, trunk and quarters.

Thank looking forward to your replies

Rest of body ok with no rust?  Condition of engine, trans, interior, paint?

Pics would help a little.

Rest of body seems to be ok. It needs resto. Non matching motor and trans. 10 bolt rear. Needs lots of interior parts replaced. Car is mostly original except for the seats. Someone bought cheap seat vinyl and put that on. Wondering a rough guess for value as I'm going to fly to Cali to look at it.

I am thinking, but I don't follow convertible prices that closely. Will respond later.

BTW, the link in your signature does not seem to work.

I just helped my neighbor purchase a 1968 RS convertible. I am in the know on prices after looking for him for a year.
For this car no more than 15k.
(btw his car had no rust penetration, just scale and corroded fuel and brake lines. $14k)

No problem.
Oddly for plain jane cars, hardtops seem to eclipse convertibles right now in camaros. In early Mustangs the convertible was King for a long long time, within the last year or 2 fastbacks are commanding more money. (like for like condition)

  How much are they asking?

Asking price...? I prefer not to say. Its a deal though in my opinion. I had an early Sept 66 build RS/SS and it was a loaded car. But due to a divorce it was either I give my ex the Camaro or my Z06 Vette. I chose to give her the Camaro. That car had everything, including original cruise control and tilt wheel. The guy who owns it lives here is Utah still and wanted to sell it because it is taking a lot of money to finish. Probably because I have most of the parts to finish it in my possession. I documented that car fully with all the stampings and date coded things. Helped Kurt with some research too on the trunk lid and seat belt fact gathering. I'm really hoping that this vert I posted here materialized for me for purchase. Everything is aligning for closing the deal. Once I have the car then I will do the same as I did with my other one documenting everything. Thanks for your reply.

Maybe $10-12k.

Non SS, rust and and non original drivetrain hurt it. Options help. Very subjective though. Would be better to evaluate the rust with a personal inspection on site.
