Stevie, I moved you thread to the Decoding section, and yes, welcome to the site.

COPO5 is most likely some transmission other than what was approved by engineering. In this case it "should" have been a Powerglide. I don't have a lot of info on the COPO codes, but Kurt might and I'm sure he'll chime in shortly.

(and here's the POP)

By the way, from the 12437 VIN code, your car started life as a V8, not an L6 so the engine's been replaced. And from the POP, the engine suffix code of DC indicates the 307 engine with a Powerglide. The transmission code of COPO5 is a real head scratcher though. Maybe the Torque-Drive??? That would require approval since it was only available with the 6 cylinder. What does the transmission indicator on the column read?

It's just the date code.

Does the POP have a dealer stamp on it?
Does the car still exist?

pretty cool how you were able to reverse the image.

So that is the first time I have seen the brown tape for the buyers information, has anyone seen that before? Or did each dealer use what ever tape they wanted?

Also I assume the date below that is the date purchased, what does the CEB  and 0003 refer to?

Shouldn't that have been C9P05?

No, it's a zero because of the extended model year run. They were already into the 1970 model year.

"Some late 69 cars that were built in the extended 69 model year could have received transmissions that were dated for the 1970 model year (i.e. the model year in the transmission code would be a 0 instead of a 9)."

In Irfanview and a bunch of other photo editors, it's the mirror function. I use it all the time....

Photoshop has a 'rotate horizontal' feature to do image reversal.
