testing brake booster
« on: March 25, 2018, 05:39:15 PM »
Is there any way to test the brake booster without the engine running?
Could I use a vacuum pump to test.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have rebuilt a bunch of boosters and  always test them with a Air conditioning vacuum pump I used to pull a vacuum on the system.

Just hook up a hose with the check valve installed and make sure the rubber cup seal is in place along with the rod that is installed in the front. With vacuum applied push in the rear rod in small steps . You input will match the output travel.
