Neat to still see these out there.

If still original carb, the base plate has been changed.  It no longer has the PCV connection, and electric choke has been added.  Smog missing.  The car has been tinkered with a bit.  Overall though, pretty cool.  I wouldn't pay that for it, but cool none the less.

Kind hard to put a number on it. I would say not 85k, but more than a restored car you would think, right?

If you corrected the steering wheel, and a couple of the small things you would have a nice driver.

Looks very original. It reminds me of a vintage Hot Wheel. Played with, and a little banged up, but still rolls nice.

$85k? Seems like a lot of money for a used car.

Thanks betarho.

"I looked at this '69 Z 2 years ago. It has a drivers side spliced quarter, most of that side painted, getting crusty under wheel well trim, lower fender rusting through, bumped under rear bumper, missing spare tire/smog/carb etc. Neat car but it needs to be restored and at the time he wanted $100k. It survived 10 years in Illinois and then was stored, not pretty underneath!"

Not in my book.

I like nice original cars like everyone else, but IMHO the whole "patina" craze is out of hand.   I would prefer a nicely restored car over something this any day.

Well now that I have the info from the Yenko site, my opinion has changed. BUT if it had been all original, I would think 50-60k, would be around the price range.

It is VERY hard to evaluate a car with just some pics. An on-site personal inspection is always needed. No drivetrain stamping pics are shown in the ad? And yes this whole “patina” craze is out of hand.

And believe it or not, a 69 Z28 isn’t all that rare. It’s just been a desirable car for many years and that has driven the price up on quality cars.

He won’t get anywhere close to that asking price in my opinion. Maybe not even half. But again to evaluate a car, you have to see it in person.

Over and out.

Ah well there ya go.  Not quite as untouched as the owner may indicate.  Changes things.

I agree patina has gotten nuts.  What some are calling patina I'm looking at a car that needs a total restoration.  I like nice unrestored cars if they present well and still have decent original paint left and score well with certification.  But some of this stuff they are passing off now looks like they dragged it from the bottom of a river.
