Sorry to hear about the posts being removed. I have volunteered to help the ACA plan for their special Pace Car and LE display at the nationals. Would like to get some of the NASCAR Pace Cars into the display. If you know of any of the owners please let them know and have them contact me. Show is June 21 - 23. Thanks

I have a 1969 Camaro Pace Car that was shipped to Park Ave Chev Olds Ltd, St Leonard, PQ on 5/19/1969. It is a RS/SS 396/325 HP Indy Sport, 4 speed, convertible any chance the VIN # of that Pace Car is available?
Any idea how many pace cars were shipped to Canada?

Yeah. the Caro Pace Car site responds to nothing anyone posts.  I think they are more interested in the  Indy 500 than the actual cars.  You'll get more responses on a jacket or a cardboard prop than you will for a question about your car.

Marriest. Thought you'd like to see a photo of where your car was bought new. A fifteen minute walk from the house I grew up in.

I have come across some cool color film footage on Youtube that shows that multiple yellow 1969 Camaro RS/SS Convertibles with Endura bumpers were used to parade some of the race drivers around the track prior to the Labatt's 50 SCCA Can-Am event held at Le Cirquit Mont-Tremblant, St. Jovite, Quebec, Canada on June 15, 1969.  The other drivers were chauffeured around in multiple orange 1969 Firebird 400(?) convertibles and multiple green 1969 GTO convertibles.  See the footage here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_-3wo6uiAw  The title is mislabeled "1968" but it is definitely 1969.

There were 12 or more 1969 Camaro RS SS yellow convertibles that GM of Canada used as promotion to parade drivers for 1969 Can-Am series. They were all identical with 396-325 hp, auto, standard white interior, remote mirror, deluxe belts, endura, cowl hood, chambered exhaust and all of them were shipped to Canada on May 7, 1969.

Wow!  Thanks for that information.  I wonder how many of those still exist.

Hi Kurt! I have one of these parade cars with Canadian documentation currently undergoing restoration. Those are the exact options. There is another in western Canada and another was a no sale at a RM Auction in 2022. They were shipped as GM of Canada Company. There is a black and white picture circulating the net with 6 of them loaded on a transport hauler with one car having a headlight door open and the other closed.

When you posted about 12 of them, I immediately thought that picture probably was of those cars.
What's the VIN of your car?

Yup, that's the one. Notable because they are all visually the same and they are going between events (not coming from the factory - wheel covers are installed).
I knew of the cars, but not the number of them - it fits perfectly.

Thanks!
