67 low fuel light?

mine worked up till about 6 or 7 years ago , haven't been able to purchase the low fuel module to fix it with but I am gonna try again this year !

Did you check to make sure the fuse like device that fits into the module is still good? Mine plugs in like a light bulb.

Mine comes on occasionally when it's to about 1/4 tank if you go around a corner or up and down hills.  It comes on and off as the fuel sloshes around when it's low.  When it gets really low, it stays on.

Thanks.. The reason I ask is because it shows a blinking red FUEL light in the Corvette in the movie Boogie Nights. 78 or 79 model?
So, unless that is unique to Corvettes, I thought that's what they all did..
I'm glad to learn at keast that the Camaro ones don't.. What a distraction that would be!

I am using the term "fuse" very loosley here. The item that I am talking about plugs into the low fuel lite module...on my 69 it does anyway.

Get to your low fuel module and take a look at it. I would like to know if yours is similar to mine.

I took the console gauge top off and the low fuel sending module has a socket for a BULB/FUSE to push into it but it won't go into the mounting hole with a bulb in it and the gauge pod has never been messed with it never has had a bulb in it , light worked 10 year's ago when I got the car and stopped working about ? maybe 6 or 7 year's ago , I have decided that it is not ever gonna be worth $60 plus buck's of MY money for the light to work so if nobody ever come's up with a fix for my original now non working module that I can do out here in the yard for free the light will never work again ,, I'd give maybe $10 to $15 buck's for a working new module but $60 just ain't realistic for something that you don't need anyway ,,

Mine did not mount into a hole in the console it was just laying on the carpet under the shifter. It is not suppose to mount into any hole is my understanding. Again mine is a 69 could be different. Put a bulb in the socket and see if it works.

After reading this thread, is my understanding correct that the low fuel warning module is not supposed to have a fues or bulb in it because it's the fuel light on the dash that comes on? If it does need a fues/bulb, I haven't seen any at the various Camaro part houses to purchase???

I'm currently wiring my dash, so I thought I would post the information I have about the repro low fuel warning module that I have..
These are the supplied instructions and it shows that the install is really easy.

In my console, I have 4 Autometer gauges, one being an isolated fuel pressure gauge and I use a NC (normally closed) grounded pressure switch to illuminate the "FUEL" lamp when fuel pressure drops below ~3.5psi.
I have fitted a 6X8K factory tach so I have to have the fuel level gauge in the center of the instrument carrier with the module sharing the low fuel lamp. I know I don't really need the low fuel warning lamp with the gauge right in front of me, but that the Hell. This is fun! 

I also fitted the module with a 4 terminal connector (Packard 56 Series of course!) so it's a serviceable item if it ever fails to work.

Buy the way.. PCS sell the correct wedge globe terminals for your dash lamp.

Look at RPO code U17 if you install the Gauge package. Check out the AIM under UPC U17 A1, gives a lot of detail on the gauge wiring harness.

 ???I could not find a RPO code in 67 for a low fuel warning light. Was this option available in 67?  If so, where would it appear? On the dash or in the gauge package? Was it just a warning light or did it say Low Fuel? Reason I ask, I am in the process of installing a new underdash harness in my 67 Camaro. I have the gauge package on the floor console and it is a automatic. There is a connection I can't find where its goes from the harness. I have all the dash hooked up, the glove box light, ash tray light , cigarette lighter etc etc. Or is this there in case some one has it and instead of having to buy a special harness it is included in the harness.? I bought the harness through Rick's First Gen. Pretty simple to install and really cleans up the underdash.

Another correcttion.. Sorry these are not the correct terminals. I was just supplied a quantity and they are different.
So far, I think Molex # 0354779002 might me right.. Google that for details.

A little clarification, please, about the presence - or not - of a fuse/bulb/anydevice in the low fuel module that is located under the instrument cluster, in the center console. Mine has never worked, never knew how it would work when I discovered that it existed. But mine has what appears to be a bulb, similar to a mini-Maglite bulb. I'm sure I didn't put it there...but I'm the 4th owner. If the bulb under the speedo ("Fuel") isn't bad, it must be the module...unless this mystery device is a fuse?

Socket in the module must be left open in a Camaro/Nova application. Modules are different for 67 and 68/69. 67 version supply's a Hot other supply's a Ground for the dash lamp.
