1969 Tuxedo Black Z w/Red Deluxe interior
« on: July 02, 2017, 03:33:09 PM »
Hi guys! I just recently purchased a 69 Tuxedo Black Z with Deluxe Red interior from a friend of mine. I had sent an email to a gentleman here before but couldn't find the info this morning. My understanding is that this color combo is extremely rare and there are only 3 69 Camaro's currently known with Tuxedo black with red interior combo. One non Z and two Z's. Just wondering if anyone here knew of any others. Thanks!!

Welcome to the CRG.
How did you get the information that there are only 3 other 69 Camaros with that color combo?

It's unusual; there are only two others in our db. Our db is a small percentage of total 1969 Camaro production of 243,085 units so it is likely there were others.

As for "rare" there is always something else out there. There are factory black Camaros with yellow and orange hound's-tooth interiors.

Thanks for the info! Really appreciate it!! You are right. That's what I was told. Two others in the data base. Probably more out there not known though I am sure. Does anyone know who has the other Black Z in the data base? Would love to see pics of it!!

Would love to see pictures and more info/history of your 69Z if you can. Very partial to that color combo myself. I have a 1966 Chevelle SS that I am restoring at this time with that factory color combo.

124379L523210 was a recent no-sale at B-J CT. No confidentiality violated; the VIN is posted on their site.

Interesting car, I saw it had been mentioned on the CRG back in 2013 as a project.
With only the rear end possibly* to go off of , I wonder How Jerry was able to certify the car?

Glad you were able to avoid the BJ buyers fee. Looks like a fun ride with the cross ram.

I received his full report along with it. He stated that it was in need of full restoration at that time but did authenticate the trim tag and the fact that it was a legit Tuxedo black Z28 with red interior. i have also been in contact with a few previous owners that were a great source for finding out the past history of the car. You are correct..only the original rear was present. Car has a date correct DZ motor at this time.

I also saw in the ebay ad where the seller said he thought the car had a original M22? he said he thought h knew the where about in oregon?

Did you, your friend or any previous owner corroborate that it had a M22, or locate the original transmission?

It currently has an M-21. The car was in Oregon for many years though. I have quite a few past registration slips that prove that. Maybe one of the previous Oregon owners does indeed still have the original trans. Certainly worth looking into. Appreciate the info!

Six for sure; some black cars in the db do not have a trim code listed.

There was a 10 10 729 VE3 Z/28-RS here in WI many years ago. Gorgeous car!
