RS Head Lamp Covers

Where should I look for the problem of my covers opening ok but do not close? Is there a diagram of how the vacuum system works and what the components are. That would help me with all the spaghetti under the hood and fenders.
Thanks
Terry

The switch on the reserve tank may be in the override position. The covers will stay open so the lamps can be changed.
If that isn't it, the vacuum slider on the headlamp switch may be broken. Switch would have to be replaced. Requires someone with skinny arms.

Is that what that switch is for? What position should it be in?

I can't even see headlight switch let alone touch it. I have that large hands problem also.
Thanks!

Before you take out that switch I would bypass it and make sure that is what it is. I changed mine and it isnt easy

Great idea! That is how I am dealing with the cowl induction switch and solenoid.
Thanks

This topic has come up several times in the past. If you search the site, you should find more than one post which addresses this topic with various diagrams, etc.
As a starting point, see attached and following post below.

I broke down and replaced actuators that fixed the problem. Thank goodness for the aims diagrams. I had a devil of a time getting the cotter pins in on the headlight doors. No room to hold pins and install cotter pin. I had to tape the pins in place than install cotter pins. Any secrets?
Thanks for all the help!
