I finally got one of the leads off my 68 I found this car in a Ohio after looking at many photos I decided to gamble on it because it had many z28 clues. It has the muncie Speedo hole, rear bumper guards, 4 leaf leaf springs, 2 piece disk rotors, correct booster with wt cylinder, the hood header panel and the cowl panel have remnants of white stripes but very crackled and faded. The motor and trans were gone, owner statedhis sons drag raced the car and put " a big motor" and an automatic in it and does not know where the original engine is. The car has a 12 bolt BW rear housing with the gm 456 gears still in it. This is all I really knew about the car when I purchased it, other than it had been sitting in a pasture for 15 years unprotected. When it was delivered to me the floor pans were rusted through as well as the rest of the bottom edges of the fenders, quarters etc. It was very disheartening. What I did t know was it came with many parts and pieces in boxes , that included the correct intake but pitted ( did not know aluminum could pitt) the correct distributor, bell housing, exhaust manifolds also pitted, carb, flywheel assorted pulleys, and a stock steering wheel. I don't know if it's real z28 or not there's not paperwork, I do have the title but it doesn't specify Z28, it's a Norwood car delivered to bill conner chevy in muncie indiana. So now you guys know pretty much everything I know about this car. I finally got one of the rust pitted springs off it pitted pretty bad I'm going to post pics to get opinion on original or fake and whether or not to reuse or get repros ? Sorry it won't let me add my pics due to size. Any opinions still appreciated
