Was the car in question actually built in June of 68?

I remember seeing several Carter built Quadrajets back in the day.

I seem to remember them saying "Carterburetor" or something like that on the side.

Anyone remember that, or am I dreaming?  ;D

That may be all it was.  I was thinking it there was some kind of a play on words.

Maybe not.  That was a long time ago!

Hi you know whats funny I have a 1967 carter on it know. This carter came off chevelle you ask how I know the gas line comes
up the back of carb. The camaro is in the front. Although the car runs great would like to get it as close to stock as
possible as most of us. This carter is different than the later ones this one was used for the 2 four barrel setup its wider. The newer
one looks identical to the rochester even uses the same rebuilding kit the newer carter is stamped the same place the rochester is
the other ones have a round emblem like i think riveted or something on the front driver side with the date for example L8 O8 N7.
thx

Yes, I have a faint memory of seeing something like 'CARbureTER' or similar...?  may have been on the older Carters rather than their QJ...?    I'll look at some carbs I have and take a photo if I see it..

It could have been on the carbs themselves, but I don't recall that.

It WAS on some of the advertising...

That's probably what I'm thinking of, the blending of their name into the carburetor word.

Yeah, Gary if you see that on a carb itself please take a picture! It seems like that's where I saw it.

Thanks!

I've got a Rochester built by Carter on the shelf at the house, marked Carter on the body. I'll have to wait until I get home tomorrow to get a pic, but I'm positive it says Carter on the casting.

It came with a quadrajet. The Carter and Rochester versions of the carb were identical.

10A build?? Then why did you say June?
From the factory, it probably had a Sept carb on it.
