It's taken a minute or two to wipe the drool off my keyboard. Very cool. I'm sure you have read, as you say, but Efforts should be made to research the history prior to your dad. Many of the uppity ups involved with GM and the Indy races, VIPs, received these cars to use durying the Indy season. Afterwards , they were turned back in to dealer inventory to be sold to the public. What I am suggesting is; if some tie to the car being used at the race, then there would be an additional historical value. And it just makes the whole thing more interesting. Regarding the title change, it is going to have to happen sooner or later. Family transfers do not affect its I owner (family) value. IMO, better transferred while your dad is living. Good luck.
