69 Penske Donohue Camaro
« on: September 18, 2016, 08:22:15 PM »
Any news on the whereabouts of the #6 Penske camaro?  I know it was wrecked a few years back and was supposedly repaired.  The way that car looked I couldn't imagine that car ever racing again.
Just wondering where it was.

I'm pretty sure I just saw it at the Simeone Museum in Philley.

The '69 Penske car that was wrecked at Sears Point a number of years ago was indeed rebuilt. It has raced again with the HTA group and Bill Ockerlund is the current owner.

Looks like he doesn't race it much.  I've looked at some 2015 / 16 vintage races on You Tube and is a no-show most of the time.

I guess I wouldn't race it either after repairing it.  Betcha it wasn't cheap.  At least it still lives.

I remember that car in 69 at Marlboro MD.

I was 12 at the time.  What an impression Donohue made.  I was stuck on 69 Camaros ever since.

1967 was the last year for the Trans-Am at Marlboro, MD.

It most certainly lives, and continues to vintage race. It may not show up as often as the owner has several t/a cars from which to choose to race:

'68 Shelby notchback sedan
'69 Bud Moore Boss 302
'70 Bud Moore Boss 302
'70 AAR Cuda
'71 Javelin

Very cool to hear confirmation. Any chance you can get a group shot of these cars hangin' out together?  ;D
