A friend of mine, here in town has a 68 plain jane with a/c, ps, bought locally with most of the original paper work.  The car is Ash Gold with 716 Ivory HT.  The dealer Invoice and the dealer order form refer to the 716 interior as Dalmation White Trim.  I have had these documents in my hands.  The window sticker may be there also.

Hi Ed, Yes, I will hit him up for the docs.  It may take me a week or so.  It is NOR, and I think about 04 or 05, but not sure.  My CRS kicks in more often these days.

Have seen that paint code used before, 1001HA as a special order paint. Car also had dash dash trim tag. 03D build with special order black paint. So guessing code is for special order, whether stripe delete or different, normally unavailable color, do not know

From the link Kurt posted, this is an excerpt: "On the window sticker and on broadcast copy sheets, "1001AA" and "1001HA" have been observed as designating special paint cars. Note that all cars were painted, no Camaros were shipped from the assembly plant in primer".
In my documents under exterior paint codes, I have a line item that states: "Special and Prime" with production numbers as a total for both, so not so sure NO cars came from the factory, primed. Again just going by what GM docs state.
Same line item description for 1967, 1968 and 1969.

No idea on Camaros, but I remember seeing an early '70's Corvette that was shipped in primer. It had PRIME stamped on the trim tag.

Since it's both summated together, that doesn't mean much.

No Camaros. Other vehicle lines, it could be possible.

I agree with Kurt. I have heard of cars shipped in primer, but have never seen a Camaro like that.

Hey guys, new to the forum.  I ended up being the lucky buyer of this car.  I saw it and thought it was very unique.  I have been dealing with old Camaros for around 30 years.   The owner made a mistake about the Corvette Bronze.  The code on the trim tag is "--".   

The window sticker is REAL as is the POP.  I also have an original owners manual that came with the car, as did old registration cards back to 1985.  The original selling dealer, Grabiak Chevrolet is still operating in PA.

The previous owner gave me some photos that were taken during the resto which included photos of the front cowl area behind the fender.  it was a lighter orange color, which i think helps to identify this as an original orange car.  When i got the car I also noticed some orange behind the door panels at the top looking down inside the door by the window, but have not take the panels off yet. 

The car has its original interior and is very clean.  Original gauges and dash.   I believe this car has 36k original miles.  It has zero rust issues, clean underneath.  I just got the car home here in Texas and I am in the process of going thru all the numbers.
