Rear trunk emblem and spoiler question.
« on: January 05, 2007, 12:15:45 AM »
My '69 is an X44 model. I am not sure but I think it originally did not come with a rear spoiler or the front spoiler. If it hadn't been originally equipped with the rear spoiler would my car have had an emblem on the trunk lid and if so, where would it have been? Also, same question if it did come with the spoiler?? Thanks!!!
 :)

The factory would have relocated the emblem to a location above the spoiler. You can see where from the underside of the trunk. If it was factory the upper torsion spring is thicker diameter wire. If the dealer added the spoiler then they may have reloctaed the emblem and may have replaced the spring. Check the upper spring. I knew mine was factory because of the overspray.

As far as I know all the 1969 deck lids got the holes for the emblem in the lower position... then if it was a D80 car the upper holes were punched and the lower ones were covered with tape... then the spoiler was installed.
