Crayon fender extension
« on: August 03, 2016, 08:55:57 PM »
I found marks on the Fender extension today.
Looks like 27 above m.
The car is an old race car in bad condition and I bought it to use as a race car.
No VIN Tag or Trim Tag.
Garnet Red X22 01C VIN 124379N583326.
But theres no hole in the firewall for the Cowl Induction Wire.
Did all COPOs have that hole?

Nikke how do you know those details, given you said both tags are missing?

Original paint Garnet Red.
X2 behind the rear seat
Hidden VIN 9N583326
Single 3/8 Fuel line
4 Speed

Wasint there a few early who dident have the hole for the Cowl Induction wire hole?
They had the wire hole drilled higher up, more to the center of the firewall?

Thanks for explaining, the 01C threw me but I guess you interpreted likely build week from the hidden partial. Sorry can't offer any insight on the lack of firewall hole (or possible alternate location) for cowl hood, but car certainly has some interesting clues as to how it left the factory.....

Never seen the large piercing in the middle of the firewall.

You may be thinking about the location of the relay which was changed VERY early in the assembly manual however there are so few data points for early cowl induction cars that I have no idea if any cars had the relay closer to the center of the firewall as was indicated in the Assm Manual.

Besides by the time this car was built the first 50 yenkos were in production and I know they have the piercing in the standard locations.

What are the actual piercings on the fenders?
Camaro SS emblems on the rear of the fenders?
Should be 4 for the Camaro script and then how many for the SS emblems?

At the front are there any holes?

No hole for the SS emblem, no hole for engine size emblem.
Z/28 emlems hole drilled twice on the front fenders.
Original Garnet Red fenders.
There has been talk about the hole in the center for ZL2 relay Wire on Team Camaro or Yenko.net.
I've seen pictures on the Firewall on early Copos with Wire in center.
I'll try to find it.

Front end on the car does not appear to be Garnet Red.  Do you have pics of the 4 speed hole?
