As seen in the thread it used to belong to IZRRSS Nice car but has not showed up lately. Odd it never showed up in a Muscle Mag. As I said before the color was popular in NC. I know that cars were ordered at Carpender Chevrolet in Durham ,NC and at Harris Conner Chevrolet in Chapel Hill NC. While working at a 7-11 in 70 or 71 a nice looking lady often shopped there and drove a Carolina Blue 69 vert, white interior and top. I would think at that time it would have been original paint. Both Chevy dealers are gone now.

I know this car.  It was once owned by a friend who lived in Big Spring, TX.  He purchased it from a friend from Oklahoma, and eventually sold it to the gentlemen in N.M.   I've got a few pics of this car sandwiched between his Z10 and mine.  I'll dig around and see if I can find it.  It was highly optioned and I think it's a great looking car.

Marty, IZRSSS, was an active member here a few years ago until he was banned for repeatedly violating some policies set by CRG, IIRC. Possibly a deeper feud with some core members. Don't know, don't care and probably shouldn't be discussed but likely the reason for the tone in the ad....if its the same owner. I always thought it was a cool, great looking car.

I like it myself even though that color seems to get bashed occasionally.     
   This is a Van Nuys car, and has PBT stamps on the firewall??  That's a Norwood only deal I believe.  But more curious about the wheels, being a December car and if I'm not mistaken, the SS wheels were only offered on the SS Camaro for a very short time early in production (1 or 2 months maybe??)   Or am I mistaken on this?

Yes, this is (or was) Marty's car.  I still have copies of the original drafts of his research book, which he sent to me to proof.  Several of us helped him with his research when he first came on CRG, and a couple CRGers even tried to help him afterwards. He did use pictures (with permission) of some CRG cars in his book.  It is a nice car.

Sounds like Marty researched the car extensively and made a solid attempt to make the car correct.  So apparently someone after the fact took some liberties with it.

According to Kurt, N66 wheels were discontinued 1/8/69.  A picture of the car prior to Marty owning it shows rallies.

Well I don't know about so called " trash talking" , I just thought it was worthy of discussion as "rarest" is hard to claim. The burgundy Z with red stripes is a  rarity, the 68 Z/28 pete estes convertible would be a rare one. This car is "rare", just not sure about rarest is all.

Plus I had never seen pics of it, and you don't see many of these special paint cars, so thats why I started the thread.

Okay that's what I was asking.  I wasn't sure but for some reason a couple months into production stuck in my head.

Rare is an over used term.    But is used to get your attention.   A sales tactic to make you think you must have it or you will be missing out on something.   And rare does not always mean desirable.   I have a friend with a 68 bench seat rare, yes, but who wants it.  I  have two 67 3 speed column shift steering columns,  rare, but who wants them.   Low production is a more correct term, but it is not flashy

Rare is relative to the options considered.  There are more option combinations than cars made.
