67 production

When was 67 production started.   I looked at a 09A 67 Convertible today.   It is an early car.   The frame has no bumper holes in it,  It is a 327 powerglide, deluxe interior, power steering, power top

Vin is 124677N112080.   Strange because above link says they built 11323 cars in September of 67.

From the VIN, it would appear that your car was actually built on the first day or two of October, rather than first week of Sept.

Perhaps your car was included in a large 'start of production' build order from GM to get the line going; if so, I imagine there are many other cars with similar differences in planned production date and actual production date.  I'm sure that Kurt, William, or one of the other experts here can provide some justification for that discrepancy..

The trim tag was hard to read.   We are picking it up Wednesday.  Will get the trim tag cleaned off to read it better.  We were told that an alarm horn was screwed to the trim tag.  So there is one hole in it.   I went with a young friend and looked at two cars.   The first one was bad and overpriced for a 6 cylinder.   I POd the owner.   I was willing to explain issues the car had but he did not care.  This convertible was a well kept, honest car.  Painted blue in 1988, changed from butternut yellow.   My friend will most likely join here so I will let him post pics after the car is in its new home.   Someone that is a Camaro restorer from Dover Delaware looked at it right before we got there.   Car really only needs body and paint work.  It is in better condition now then when we bought my 67 convertible in 1985

Could it be '10A' on the trim tag?

Nope, I could see 09A.  I just read about the Pilot cars were built in late May and early June but tagged as September cars

If the VIN is really 124677N112080 - then it's not a pilot car.

Ok got a little mixed up.  First car we looked at was the 07A Rough 6 cylinder car.   The car he bought is an 09E.   Here is a pic of the Trim Tag, my mistake, but the numbers are a little off.  I was not implying it was a pilot car.   Just that first month numbers are not set in stone.
