How can a car with a warranty book and POP showing it was sold in Phoenix AZ have a NCRS report that it was shipped to a dealer in Utah?

Seems unlikely to me. Some COPO's may have been dealer traded if they sat around a while, but this was shipped and sold in less than a month(12/5/68-1/3/69).

Every documented COPO I have seen has been much later in production and a Norwood car.

When the NCRS reports became available, I figured there would be some fake POP's discovered when the made up data did not match the shipping report. This may very well be one of those cases.

On the bright side, it's a nice looking car with interesting ownership history for not real COPO money.

At least it does not have a certificate of authenticity with it!

Could be the lighting, but that red paint looks to bright to be Garnet Red IMO.
William wouldn't that rear end be from January of 70 since it is a "C" BE ?
(January of 69 would just read BE)

That sounds like quite a distance to be possible in this case but I do know cars were moved among dealers and sold other places.  My SCJ mustang is that way.  Per the Marti Report it was special ordered and delivered at one dealer in Oklahoma.  Then about 3 weeks later on the Marti it was moved to another dealer about 40 miles away in Oklahoma and sold there.

Yup, possible.  From Utah to Arizona has me question it though.  That's a hike.  Anyone know of other new cars traded among dealers with that kind of distance?

It would be too wide for the car if it were a 70 model rear...

Would it be possible the axle failed under warranty (hard driving?) and it was swapped out entirely soon after?
I would think that unlike a motor, a whole rear would just be swapped if bad.

The Ebay ad shows listing ended because the car is no longer available.

I wonder if that means the seller decided not to sell or if there is a new owner? I guess time will tell. It's sure to pop up again somewhere.

I suspect the car was sold that is why the E-Bay ad was removed, the hype around someone famous owning it was the big selling point....
