Include dealer sticker as part of restoration?

To me the sticker belongs because that's how you bought it.  Wish I could find a Jay Chevrolet dealer (Haddonfield, NJ) sticker/emblem, and if I did it would be installed instantly... BTW I'd pay dearly for any memorabilia from that dealer.

If I could find something from Dick Fencl Chevrolet for my car I might use it.

I do have an old Osceola Dragway Tech Inspection OK sticker on the windshield. That hopefully can stay there forever.

This used dealer sticker was on my car when I bought it in 2009.  Previous owner told me his brother bought the car in the early to mid 70,s from this dealer.   Dealership has been closed for years but was actually  located near my hometown in Carlisle,Pa.   There lot was beside the gate 3 entrance to the fairgrounds where all the Carlisle car show events take place.
I had the old sticker scanned then had a new one made to put on a thin magnet.  I thought it would be neat to put on the car when I have it at local shows since a lot of people still remember this dealership

 I got the Spielman dealership sticker reproductions in yesterday (I had 6 made for now) and they look great. I even had a sticker image put on a coffee mug into the glazing I held one sticker up to the blacked out tail panel and I just love the unique look it adds to the restoration. I have the car partially masked right now for a round of clear coat flow coating but when done I'll put one sticker on using some masking tape behind it and get your votes.

I finally got around to updating this thread.
Using a magnet, I place the dealer sticker on the rear where it was originally. Hmmmm......it sort of grows on me but that depends on the day and my mood.
  I've attached 3 pictures....one with the dealer sticker, one without and one with the sticker on the car during a recent show.
 What do you think..... Yes/No ?

Looks great with it, looks great without it. Cool thing is you don't have to be permanent about it -

I took mine off when I bought the car, ran the screws back down in the holes and forgot about it. When they started showing back up on cars at shows, it made total sense to see them, as that's the way most dealers equipped the cars for sale.

I'll magnet mine - hopefully find a Courtesy Chevrolet from Houston for the Pace Car someday -

Mike I think it looks awesome, as long as it won't blow off, or scratch the paint. What about license frames, did your dealer have those?
I would stick one on my car if i could find one.

  When I had shown the car at the last two shows I asked people for their thoughts about the sticker. For the casual observer most had no opinions either way. For the car enthusiasts, most liked the idea to keep the sticker while a few didn't support any dealer advertising at all. Interesting enough many said they have seen dealer stickers/metal emblems starting to be part of restorations.
  I moved the magnet around to get their opinions and even included placing the magnet on the opposite side of the trunk lid mounted Camaro emblem (see image below). That position looked 'cleaner' but it wasn't how the dealer placed it and there is something unique about having the sticker on the rear panel instead of the trunk. 
  I may keep the magnet version for now being it is thin, holds good and doesn't shift while driving. I have a few extra stickers in case I decide to stick it on permanently. These are basically made as bumper stickers using a peal-n-stick vinyl type of material. I use a razor and a metal straight edge to trim them out.
  The coffee mug was an extra I had made up and held to my promise that I would take my first sip of coffee from it only after the car was completed and I hung the peace sign I wore decades ago on the rear view mirror. No fuzzy dice here! I couldn't help but post a picture from its fist show taking first place in the F-body stock category
