2 bbl '69 313 intake
« on: March 07, 2016, 06:16:25 PM »
Is there any difference(s)  between the Canadian vs. American 3916313 intakes . .
3956618 is the 2 bolt block casting number,  Suffix code is  TO 111 HD 1913025XX .
What makes the above intake, Canadian versus  American ?
Thanks!
Ted

There may be some minor casting differences, but a casting from any plant should generally be the same as from another plant. Notable exceptions are dating format (for some years) and Flint vs Tonawand SB oil passages.

I'm not buying that there's any difference in the manifolds. People will still tell you that there are high-nickel content blocks.....
All urban legends.

On the Car Popular advertisement with the 313 intakes above sent in by ko-lec-tor, I see a CANADA with a square under it just before the firing order.  On my 313 intake, I do not have the CANADA and the square, hence the question.  Just 'cause I do not have these 2 symbols, does it mean therefore that I do not have a 313 Canadian intake?  Who applied these symbols to the intakes on cars to be imported into Canada.
Thanks!
Ted

They were made in Canada by McKinnon Industries. They were just another engine supplier to Chevrolet, like Flint or Tonawanda.
Parts had to be made to the print, hence they can't be of different dimensions.
