Austin, you just don't like vinyl tops... but they were a 'thing' of that time....
re the 'green/green/green' combo, having the darker green roof which isn't shiny, along with the darker green interior.. simply adds some contrast both color and texture to the appearance of the car, and the 'frost green' really is a very pretty paint color.
Nowadays, I'm not sure if any manufacturer puts vinyl tops on cars (I can't think of one?), but at that time, if you didn't have a vinyl top car... it sorta meant 'cheap'..
... ("Hey you bought a new car! You didn't want to pay for a vinyl roof???")I would NOT add a vinyl top to a car that didn't have one, and I would prefer my car NOT to have a vinyl top; I had planned on removing it during restoration, but since I decided in the intervening 35 yrs to maintain it in 'original unrestored' condition, I have changed my mind.
