1968 Z/28 spiral shocks

So as some of you know I am looking for a original set of spiral shocks for my 69Z. (3192477 front ) and (3192851 rear)

Well I ran across these today on eBay. 3192477 and dated late 67 (278 67). He says they are early take offs.
Best thing is the title for his listing does not say Z/28, so they may go fairly cheap.
I know there are a handful of guys with 68Z cars on here, and I have had a hard to locating shocks for my car, so hopefully this find helps you guys out!

Im just messing with you..  I am no where near ready to even consider buying parts for the car..  Buy them and maybe later on Ill buy them off you..

I have to point out to you fellas...  'The original spiral shocks' after 45 yrs will NOT do very much to dampen out suspension motions in your car!     

I removed my originals in 1976 after I purchased the car and installed Gabriel Strider (adjustables) which worked much better.  I've cleaned and painted those an original appearing 'gray' and will use them.  If they don't do their job sufficiently, I've some new Konis in the box I will install! .. and since I'm a long time 'hoarder', I've probably still got the originals deep in a box somewhere in one of my garages.. .  Bullitt keeps bugging me to find them and send them to him!!

Anytime I've ever purchased a 'used car' (especially back in those days), the first thing I'd so after an oil change and tuneup is *install new HD shocks*.  Factory shocks during that period  sometimes didn't even last thru the initial warranty period (which wasn't long)..

Thanks Gary, would not plan on putting them in actual service. And I'm not real interested in going above my current bid. Like Cook pointed out, several months before my car's build date. More of a shelf item, lol. Next to another Z intake I bought a year or two ago...and the traction bars. Mike S might be interested.

 I have a NOS pair but not sure what the application is for. These aren't for a '67 BB unfortunately.

All of the original shocks from 67-69 were just oil filled & not gas filled correct? The old Z I have has the spiral shocks still , I thought I would replace them with a nice set of gas shocks when the time comes ....

No, they were not gas filled.   They were HD shocks so they are a bit heavier damping, and perhaps a little longer lived than std shocks of the day.  Maybe JohnZ can give us some actual *values* for the damping etc from the factory specs, but I've never seen any such data to my recollection.

Compared to HBC prices. Really thought somebody was going to jump on them off the site. I bid $105 early this week to sort of get it going, no other bids, this morning $ 113 was accepted offer and closed the auction.
