What I was thinking Gary. Even has those hard to come by foam sleeves. Right hoses etc...pulley is probably a 509, but what if it is a 105??!

He's close to you Bentley.. :)

If I were looking to put P/S on my Z28, I'd call him..  but my opinion has always been this...

"Z28's are for men, and men don't need 'no dang P/S'!  :)    I think from my memory of that timeframe, P/S on Z28s was extremely rare.. in fact, I believed at that time that Z28's couldn't be had with P/S.  The ones I know of (from later) were all added by their owners.

Mine has P/S. If it's that rare, must be quite a trick to find the deep groove P/S pulley. Maybe my Z was originally owned by a woman? Nah!

Gary do you really have Nomads from all 3 years? My first car was a 57 Nomad, but 55's are my true passion.

Sold the nomad in 1976. It was in rough shape then! Saw a nice one in the San Diego area a couple ow weeks ago. It looked spectacular.

I have enough trouble keeping up with one Camaro, HaHa! Let alone all your cars! I can see why you would welcome some help!

Power steering was rare? Mine has it but the other '69 Z I co-owned with a buddy didn't. Unless I'm missing something (coming in to the conversation late?) is power steering truly rare?

I guess I'm the only one saying that; and what I tried to say was that I 'played' in Z28 circles (several friends and myself that owned them) when they were new - I was in the USAF then - and it was around 1977 or so that I saw my first '69 Z28 with P/S.. and a buddy bought the P/S setup at the dealer and installed it.  I had believed it was not available on Z28s ...  he told me that he bought the brackets for a small black and they worked;  I don't think I knew enough (or cared enough?) at the time to ask about the deep groove pulley.. of if I did.. I don't recall.

Back then, there was no CRG or TC or anything else 'online' to inquire about such things; it was only what one saw for themselves, read in books/magazines (and you know how unreliable car mags are).. or inquired at the local Chevy parts dept...

I can see where someone interested in racing wouldn't want power steering as it added weight and also robbed horsepower to run.

Yes, that was a factor back in the muscle car days... Many people I knew back then even buying larger muscle cars (Chevelles, GTO's, etc) would opt for power brakes, but not power steering purely for that reason...
