1969 396 tail panel blackout

I searched, but could not find a pic of the blackout area behind the bumper area. I have great examples of how the blackout goes across the top of the tail panel into the trunk seal area, just no pic of an OE blackout behind the bumper. Anyone out there that has some detail pics and can  post them? Thanks, CRG

It will vary slightly but regardless itll still be the same in the general sense.

I don't know about that eBay 68. Look at the areas next to the tail lights. Not doubting the car, but I've never seen such a bad tape job. I think the 69 stopped at the ridge and didn't go down to the bolt holes. Mine was painted over at one point. It wasn't sanded down, just painted over. The black I found only seemed to come to that ridge.
 Here's a couple of pics where you can see the original orange paint. I taped off and spray bombed where the black I found stopped.







A couple just to show that it actually was originally painted correctly...

Thanks Dave & all. Like said in OP, the top portion I knew and around the lights too. It was that bottom line. I figured it either followed that ridge as you showed Dave, or was a taped line dissecting the bolt holes. Thanks.
Until I get more examples, I will assume that is the way it should be on a 69(as Dave's shows), yet, the 68 does dissect the holes...Hmmm.

I knew you would be a stickler for correctness with the tape line, thats why i wondered about a 69 norwood car. Plus you are at the stage of the game where you can get it right the first time, by having similar cars to yours to look at for reference. Keep up the eagle eye for details, the bigger of sample of cars you have pics of to review the better choice you can make, and in the end the happier you will be with the end result.
You know the guys here at CRG want the best results for you.

Here is where I put the line on the last one I did through the top bolt holes, I had examined a few photo sets of early cars and two were through the top bolt holes and the other was under the lip like the hugger orange car shown, the angle into the trunk I have never seen any other way than the approx 45 deg angle from the corner to the inside lip.

This is how I get a lacquer look from current products...
I use Axalta products and mix 50% black with 50% clear then catalyzed finally added 25% flattener by volume, then shoot 1 mottled then 2-3 med wet coats. 
Catalyzed paints look WET Gloss to me and it takes 25% to knock it back IMHO. 10% 15% do nothing...
