Zinc Corrosion removal
« on: July 21, 2015, 11:00:25 PM »
Has anyone developed a good regimen to remove white dust corrosion on Zinc Plates parts? Disc Brake dust shields are not fun to remove. This is the worst case, but I'd like to make it presentable if at all possible  ;)

Pg.4 of this PDF may help. I , myself, thought of vinegar before reading in the PDF. Click on 'read more' at bottom of 1st pg.,then, click on bottom of 2nd page ' How to prevent...'

I will add, once cleaned (there may still be staining) put a coat of wax or some other moisture block. Remember the brakes get hot, so nothing flammable  for that block.
