Is 124379N605752 known to the core CRG members?
Just saw it listed for sale HERE and was curious if the car is known to the Camaro research community.
I am in no way trying to bash this car or encourage such behavior, just curious as to the seller's comments in the listing:

Because she is so remarkably original, she was used as a reference for hardware and assembly manuals to benefit others wanting to restore and preserve their beloved Camaro Z/28.

Because it was so remarkably preserved, its original hardware used to pattern Z/28 restoration bolt kits produced by www.amkproducts.com.  The undercarriage was disassembled, one bolt at a time, each removed cleaned, sent to AMK for patterning, returned and reinstalled before the next one was sent.  An undertaking that is a testament to the meticuolus dedicated the previous owner has to the hobby.

It was also used as a benchmark reference for restoration assembly manual technical drawings. When it was reassembled, the components were dressed prevent any corrosion, but according to the current and previous owner were not restored, retouched, or refurbished aside from were stated below.

The ebay ad would seem to indicate its a survivor along with the one show sheet with 5500 miles yet the car or at least many areas of it have been restored. The pictures clearly seem to show that especially in a couple areas.

The 'Buy It Now' was US$95k and an offer of US$90k through eBay was declined.....

That car caught my eye as well, but seeing the X33 and X77 mixed together I had mixed review. I obviously liked the color, and always like to see what a high end Z/28 will go for let alone a Garnet red one!

Yes, I've seen a few like that, an offer is made but declined, then the listing ends early because of an 'error'. Seems that the 2 parties agree to a price and then deal outside of eBay, probably to avoid paying fees.
Not saying that's the case here, but if it were, I'd be very wary of (i.e. it just wouldn't happen) parting with $90k outside of ebay's protection, it has it's flaws but at least you have some support if the car turns out to be not as described.....
If the car gets relisted, that'll answer the question I guess.

Hard to believe, but these things still crop up with extremely low mileage and near perfect condition; it's very possible everything listed about the car was close to the mark.

A good friend of mine some years back uncovered a less-than-7000 mile '68 SS, a Corvette Bronze car, black interior, just unbelieveable condition, featured in several books and magazines (Hooper's is one). He should have left it strictly alone, but touched up the paint and striping and chrome in a couple of areas, and rebuilt the drivetrain. Car has since been sold several times, last I saw it was in Canada. Tough to think about paint touch up on a 100% original paint car, but at least the guy painting it is renowned for what he does. Car could have turned many survivor class cars on their ears had he left it alone -

I agree with the possibilty of "listing errors" being "fee ducking". Seen it happen more than a few times -

But usually with over-inflated reserves, and they usually get some bids on the board (to test the market) before ending the auction early.

Or even to have a bud act as a shill to artificially raise the price. I've documented a few of these - it does happen more often than you think.

Absolutely, though not in this case with a buy now/offer only auction, which is actually a dangerous way to test the market if you truly don't intend to sell.
As Steve says, more likely a fvf duck in this case.
ZLP955 is quite right, testing is usually done via bid/reserve type auction.

Hmm if he was ducking fees, seems like a lot of $. Maybe that whole description of bolts being removed for accuracy to reproduce, got it sold?

Don't get me wrong I am all about the color....

Just overpriced for my taste with the add ons is all. Maybe it wouldn't have sold for as much without some of the X33 trim?
