67 door lock stuck
« on: May 15, 2015, 01:03:58 AM »
seems to operate ok using the key.  But when using the interior button it won't fully release to unlock position and the key won't turn fully to unlock

Any ideas?

May just need thorough lubrication. Lubricate the lock mechanism well and then work the key several times. They do dry out and stick over time.

Jek,
On  that lock mechanism is a coiled spring that sometimes breaks. Also make sure the inside lever and lock button are all the way back in position, old dried lube can cause disruptions within the mechanism.
    Good luck,

One thing i did notice, the metal plate that attaches to the end of the lock cylindar and connects to the rod that moves up and down has about 10 degrees of flex.  So when you turn the lock cylindar using the key, the cylindar rotates about 10 degrees before the interior rod moves up or down.  Just wondering if that is normal?
