Steve, thanks for posting those pictures, they triggered a vague memory of date codes being discussed. I'll have to search for that forgotten thread, but my recollection now is that the discussion was whether the code was a Julian date or a month/week/year.

I'm not certain - considering the 6-8 showed up in January, this one could have been either 1/8 or day 18. We need a couple of examples to compare it to.

I should have kept it, considering it was pretty close for my 01C X77, but it wasn't a tach/gage car to begin with. My L78 takes the first range, so it left for a better home -

Okay, I see the rear armrests.  I thought only convertibles had these.  Why does this car have them?  Is is a possible fold down rear seat?  What is the story on what car gets them or not?

I think from looking at other cars, if you opted for the fold down seat you got them.

Hello everyone. I'm the one that originally found/posted this 69 z28 survivor. It is back on CL locally here in Northern Cal. so apparently it has not sold. After reading up on the te previous posts I can tell you that it does have a fold down seat. Also, he has now listed it as an "early" 69 with the "rare" narrow rear spoiler. So someone has been there with some knowledge of these cars. Don't know if that's adding to his idea of waiting for a big offer or what. Also, the ad now reads "this was a 2 4 car". I mentioned early on in my posts that it has the "cable" throttle linkage hanging on the firewall. I remember reading somewhere that cross rams used that linkage (as well as L6's). Is that correct?

The 68 spoiler that they used in early 69 is just what they used.  It is NOT considered rare, but normal for the production date if a spoiler was ordered.

It should be understood then that no Z-28 was ever factory-built with a cross-ram intake manifold.

If the car has a throttle cable, and there is mention of possible race history (I thought I had read) then it's a possibility it had a crossram on it at one time.  That however has no reflection on price in my eyes and is just speculation unless he has some documentation (or unless he has the setup included with the car of course  )  Otherwise it's just another Z28 that now needs the correct steel throttle rod sourced.

  Kind of sounds like the guy is seeing dollar signs and people are feeding it to him.  I still feel high $20's is too rich for that car considering it's very likely there will be an extensive amount needed to be spent on the car that could easily reach or even go beyond that purchase price. Likely why it's still on the market speaks volumes.  Closer to 20 and I think it would have been gone by now.

It's a need find, but from a buyers perspective ya gotta keep it real and not let anxiety get the better of you.

I should point out, I'm not knockin the car or the seller.  If he gets the numbers he seems to be tossing out, that's fantastic, and even better if your buddy gets the car Bullitt.  I guess that just means mine is worth a whole lot more than I ever thought it was
