Suspicious - fresh stamping, no broach marks visible anywhere on the pad near the numbers. Surface looks to be eroded, which makes the stamping look too obvious. Evidence of a previous stamp or a "bounce" strike with the gang stamp just above the Flint "V".

Missing VIN is a little odd, too - rare to see one without at least by this production date.

Yea, Han's pad and stamp show the characteristics typical of original stamps which haven't been tampered with.
Where as this other example has a pad surface which appears to be, if not physically eroded by either rust or acid, peened with a punch or hammer.
The pad surface appears to be uneven and/or irregular at best.
The impression of the actual stamp is VERY EVEN AND THE number PUNCHES do not appear to be worn at all... they are quite perfect additionally I might add there are several notable differences in the characters which although is not a disqualifier taken singularly when the remaining issues are taken into account it is Buyer Beware at BEST.

Nice Hans, mine is L529304, but don't have original engine, gearbox. Fathom Green with original everything else.
